Make no mistake about it — Cris Cyborg is the most dominant female fighter in the history of mixed martial arts. Novice lovers of this game will argue that Ronda Rousey is your best female to compete in the sport, but a simple glance at their recordings demonstrates that Rousey has some serious work to do if she wants to capture Cyborg.
With a career that’s been clouded by a PED controversy and with a big-time struggle in the world’s best MMA promotion eluding her up before 2016, the 32-year-old Brazilian eventually surfaced at the UFC at UFC 198 in Curitiba, Brazil. She took on Leslie Smith at a 140-pound catchweight struggle she won within the initial two minutes.
For her second bout at the UFC, Cyborg took on Lina”Elbow Princess” Lansberg at Brasilia, Brazil. As a huge -1200 favorite, Cyborg took Lansberg outside at the second round, winning by TKO.
With a career record of 20-1 using a no contest after she tested positive for a PED in 2011, all but two of her victories were finished by knockout or technical knockout. The vicious striker had 12 straight T/KO wins and finished six of her previous nine battles in the first round until Holly Holm managed to go the distance.
